Hi! My Name is James Willard and I am the featured photographer for Bel Inizio. I would like to thank you for coming this far into my site. Either youre very nosy, or you just might be interested in me photographing your wedding! Since this is one of the most important days of your lives, its a great idea for you both to get to know a little about the person that youll spending a lot of time with during this journey. So here you go:

I have been a happily married man for over 10 years to my best friend, Bridgitte. We have a grown son, Scotty and a one-year old puppy named Lulu.

I am always being asked, How did you become a wedding photographer? Well, from a very young age my parents nurtured and encouraged my enthusiasm for photography. As I got older, my wife did the same. Starting off I did a lot of fine art and photojournalism on black and white film. I would process and print all of my own work. This taught me a lot about quality and attention to detail. I then turned to fashion. Knowing how to position and pose a person naturally is a crucial ability that helps me at every shoot. Then I got into portraiture. Learning how to capture (and create, when necessary) great lighting is perhaps the greatest skill I mastered. When I was asked to do my first wedding, I wasnt quite sure what to expect. So I thought about it. Isnt weddings just photographing people? Boy was I wrong. It took me several events to appreciate what goes into photographing and capturing the true uniqueness of each wedding.

So finally, my Italian wife came up with the name Bel Inizio. The English translation of this is beautiful beginning. People have asked me, why not just James Willard Photography? Well, I really want to try to convey a fresh perspective on wedding photography. Ultimately I want to document your beautiful beginning to be remembered and enjoyed for years to come.
